Are foods are like drugs? Yes. Many people don't realize the power of foods as drugs and thus the power of foods to help you with fat loss. Foods are so powerful that the U.S. Government is having trouble creating definitions that separate the roles of foods and drugs. With that said in this article I want to share with you 4 different foods that you can eat everyday to help you lose weigh. These are not magical foods that you can only get deep in the rain forest. No, these are regular foods that we all have access to. Eat them everyday and they will boost the fat burning effect of your diet. Salmon - While salmon was once demonized by the fitness community in the 90's because of it's fat content (I actually saw it in an article about 'Foods to avoid for fat loss') we now know that the long chain omega-3 fats found in salmon are the best kind. Research has shown that these fats can actually help you burn more fat. Salmon also contains high levels of protein - it is really the perfect package. Green Tea - Green tea is another powerful food that will have huge impacts on your fat loss and health. There is more and more research coming out everyday about the beneficial effects of Green Tea and its antioxidants in the areas of fighting cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and weight loss. Green tea contains cancer fighting compounds, not to mention antioxidants, caffeine, and the fat burning powerhouse antioxidant EGCG. Research has shown that the combination of caffeine and EGCG (which is naturally combined in green tea) can help burn extra fat. Drink 2-3 cups a day. If for whatever reason you don't like the taste of green tea (it can be an acquired taste) then make sure to take a green tea extract supplement. Almonds - Almonds (and nuts in general) are a great fat loss snack. Almonds are extremely convenient, portable, and they have a long shelf life. You should keep a small bag of almonds at your desk, in your briefcase, or backpack as an emergency fat loss snack. Almonds contain fat, fiber, and protein - all of which will help curb your hunger. Studies have shown that people whom snack on almonds lose more weight than those that choose a higher carb snack. They are also low in carbohydrates and provide your body with energy while keeping your blood sugar levels under control. Broccoli - Broccoli may seem like a regular vegetable but it is a true superfood. fat loss benefits aside broccoli is amazing due to its health boosting effects. It contains antioxidants and phytochemicals that have been shown to help fight cancer. There is also some evidence to suggest that another compounds found in broccoli , Calcium D-glucarate , can bind excess estrogen in the body. This hormonal modulation is an added bonus from a fat loss perspective. Broccoli contains low impact carbs - meaning they don't effect your blood sugar too much (which is great for fat loss). You can buy is fresh or frozen (broccoli cuts or florets - make sure to buy the florets as the cuts are the leftover pieces). The bottom line is Eat Broccoli Often. There you have it four time tested and research proven foods to help you burn more fat. If you aren't eating (or drinking) all of these foods daily (or at least every couple days) then you are not doing everything possible to burn maximum fat. Add them to your diet, get healthier, and burn more fat.
