Angular cheilitis has several impacts and though every sufferer doesn't go through exactly the same thing several side effects are very common. Angular cheilitis can affect you both physically, emotionally and socially, learning those effects will help you know how to cope and help you look for a solution. One of the most common side effects of Angular Cheilitis is cracking lips, this can be very painful mostly because of how much we move our lips and the kinds of things that pass over them. Every time we talk we use our lips moving them in all sorts of motions to form words. We also pass all sorts of foods over them. These motions and textures can make them hurt immensely when they suffer from cracks. Another common but not often noticed side effect is self esteem. Most of us struggle in this area as it is, we fight to know the world accepts us. Accepts the way we look, the way we talk, the way we think and when we feel ugly and gross because of sores and cracks on our mouth our self esteem struggles. We struggle at work cause we don't have the confidence to pursue what we need to. This self esteem struggle also leads to social awkwardness. We feel embarrassed by the way we look and social opportunities we would usually take we avoid because we are embarrassed. We find ourselves pitying ourselves because of the way we appear. It is hard to have the confidence to approach people and make conversation if the entire time you are worried about how you look. Pain is a side effect that everyone who has angular cheilitis will experience pain, this is the side effect that no one seems to be able to avoid. It is perhaps the hardest part to deal with because it is constantly there. The pain is what makes it so hard for others to understand, no one can really see what kind of pain the sores, cracks, and fissures inside your mouth. It can be frustrated because no one can sympathize unless they have been there. Angular cheilitis can be cured you just have to decide you want to get rid of it. It will take some work but the longer you leave it untreated the worse the condition will get. Take the time to do your research and treat your angular cheilitis and learn what you need to do in the future to avoid contracting it again.
